SEND Inclusion Week is Coming – 1st to 5th December 2025

We’re really excited to start planning for SEND Inclusion Week, which will run from Monday 1st to Friday 5th December 2025
It’s shaping up to be a fantastic week of celebration, learning, and connection — and we want you to be part of it.
We’ve already sent out a ‘Save the Date’ to all primary and secondary SENCOs, but please do pass on the information to any contacts in Post-16 or specialist settings, The more people involved, the better!
Activities for Inclusion Week – We’d Love Your Input
We’re looking into offering inclusive and enriching activities delivered by trusted external providers during the week. To help us understand what schools might be interested in — and whether they’d consider investing in these opportunities — we’ve put together a short survey: Click here to complete the survey
Pre-Inclusion Week Competition
Before the week kicks off, we’ll be running a photo competition for children and young people. We’re inviting them to send in a photo of a place in Stoke-on-Trent where they feel included — somewhere that makes them feel welcome, safe, and seen. Further information about the competition will be sent out closer to the opening date.
- Opens: 14th October
- Closes: 18th November
- Winners Announced: After judging
- Celebration Event: 5th December at Hazel Trees, where winners will receive their certificate and voucher.
What to Expect During Inclusion Week
All schools will get access to a Padlet full of resources and activity ideas suitable for all ages and abilities. There’ll also be materials for staff exploring the UN Inclusion Strategy.
This year’s theme is “Children First”, inspired by the beautiful Maasai greeting Kasserian Engeri — “And how are the children?” It’s a powerful reminder that the wellbeing of children reflects the strength of our communities. The theme also ties in with the 2025 Inclusive Schools Week focus: Children First – Building a Stronger Tomorrow.
