Helping Young People Have Their Say

Help Us Hear Directly from Young People with SEND
We’d be very grateful for your support in helping us hear directly from children and young people with SEND across Stoke-on-Trent. Building on priorities identified in the YMCA citywide youth consultation, we’re keen to understand their lived experiences to inform and improve local services.
This year, we’re focusing on three key themes:
- Autumn – Places to go and things to do
- Spring – Skills for the future
- Summer – Wellbeing
We’ll be visiting some settings to speak with students, but we’d really appreciate your help in reaching a wider group.
How you can help:
If your setting has school councils, forums or groups where children and young people with SEND share their views, we’d be thankful if you could share any feedback linked to these themes. Similarly, if these topics are explored through your curriculum, any insights would be warmly welcomed.
Please send feedback to: sendfeedback@stoke.gov.uk
We’re also developing participation resources, which will be available on the Local Offer to support engagement around these themes: Get Involved
Your students’ voices are invaluable in helping us understand what matters most to young people with SEND. Thank you in advance for your support.
