Cognition and learning

Support for learning difficulties may be required when children and young people learn at a different pace to their peers or have an inherited condition. This may also be required when children and young people have been affected by environmental factors or a combination of the above. Adaptive teaching is important because it allows children and young people to access learning with the right provision, support and as independently as possible.

The website gives strategies and interventions to support children and young people who need support over and above quality first teaching (QFT) which are teaching strategies and interventions that would be ordinarily available to all pupils.
